A happy little Irish wish for you!

Friday, March 3, 2006

Poem Artwork

Top ‘O the morning, lads and lasses
Lucky Leprechaun’s the name
I might have red hair and glasses
But I’m friendly just the same
I arrive when springtime flowers
Will soon be in their full bloom
And before the April showers
Upon the horizon loom.

Yes, dear friends, March is my season
And the seventeenth, my day
As I bring to you a reason
To set forth some time for play
Frolic in the fields ‘O clover
Leaves of four still lucky be
And then, when my day is over
Many blessings you shall see.

Green remains my favorite shading
And I like my heavens blue
But before the night is fading
Let me grant a wish for you
As you carry on your mission
Seize the beauty to behold
And in true Irish tradition
You will find your pot of gold!

This is an excellent St. Patrick's Day poem. I loved those last three lines. I'm still looking for that pot of gold.

You are an equal opportunity wisher. Left out the bloody debauchery, but otherwise true to its spirit.

I love the Irish. I love the Irish family and the humor. Having survived many a St. Paddy's day festival in Savannah...I ache for the Tara Fesh where the Irish do their thing in a family way without the alcohol.
I spent some time in Ireland and I'd love to return. I will one day.

Thank you for the memory!

Wonderful write, but St. Paddy's Day, t'is a sad one for me. Like Karla said below, our mother died on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1990; she would have been sixty in May. She didn't quite make it. Sure the grief has ended, but we can't forget her or forget that she has gone to a better place. I still miss her so much!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Burleson, Karen Lynn. :( >tears <

Jill,

You pen with cleverness and creativity; well done!

St. Patrick's Day is a sad anniversary for me--it is the date my beloved Mom died, 16 years ago this year. I miss her, still.

((((HUGS)))) and love, Karla.
