Springtime Rain

by Jill Eisnaugle — Read all 611 poems by Jill Eisnaugle

A poem about choices, destiny, and finding the goals we are meant to follow.

Poem Artwork

She walked a long, uncertain road
A path so few would tread
Then, suddenly, the raindrops flowed
To cleanse the way ahead
Within their wake, a brilliant light
Appeared where all was vain
And shined a beacon, burning bright
Amid the springtime rain.

Her faith had fallen through the cracks
Her heart was worn and weak
She did not feel her selfless acts
Would ever find their peak
But in the stir of tragedy
Her words relieved the pain
Of those ensnared by agony
Beneath the springtime rain.

She stopped along that doubtful road
And prayed upon the breeze
Then suddenly, the Lord bestowed
A gift that she would seize
When brilliant light, within the wake
Of days when goals seemed feign
Became a dream she would partake
Due to the springtime rain.

Hope you got the rain you desperately needed, Jill, but not all of the flooding in SE Texas. When it rains, it pours...an excellent write, enjoyed reading this.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

There is a renewing force trapped within each drop of rain and as it falls upon us, it releases that to us. Rain is a mood all of its own and when I let it bathe my spirit, enlightenment is sure to follow. Beautiful poetry, Jill.
Take care,
Sherry

"Springtime Rain" is a creative and symbolic prose; It's raining right now in New York, and for as long as I can remember, whenever I think of rain, it always reminds me of people. Thanks for sharing. My best, Gloria

Jill . . .
Your work has a style all its own and is uniformly consistent from poem to poem.

Quite mellifluous when read aloud too, even if I am just listening to my own voice!
