From that grief-stricken Tuesday dawn
When terror marred the blue
We’ve found courage to carry on
In ways we never knew
And while we pause, this somber day
To mourn for those who died
We honor them, each time we pray
For peacefulness, worldwide.
We gave strangers the gift of life
We pledged our time and tears
We brought some comfort midst the strife
The carnage and the fears
We looked and saw the light inside
The simple joys once passed
Then, showed the world our nation’s pride
Was unity to last.
From that grief-stricken Tuesday dawn
When black smoke marred the blue
We’ve risen high and carried on
As only we could do
And while our nation stops to pray
This sad day in September
The memory of those who’ve passed away
We shall always remember.

I will always remember and will never forget; trust me.
A powerfully moving, lasting tribute to what happened that sad day; one of the best I've read. Well done!
