If the world should end tomorrow
I shall leave with no regret
Every day that I have borrowed
I am sure to not forget
I have lived a life so humbled
Filled with more joy than pain
Even though, at times, I’ve stumbled
I would do it all again.
From the pathways wide and narrow
That my life was meant to stroll
To the deepest ounce of marrow
Still remaining in my soul
I have witnessed understanding
For the souls of those in need
In the form of aid, withstanding
Any harsh or harmful deed.
I have seen the light at daybreak
Dawn the beauty of a dream
While I learned from every mistake
When modesty proved supreme
I have thrived with the assistance
Of my friends and family
Without whom, my mere existence
Would not mean as much to me.
If the world should end tomorrow
I shall view my life as blessed
Filled with happiness, not sorrow
Knowing that I did my best
I shall pay my recognition
As my final moment nears
Then, complete my earthen mission
Thankful for these precious years.
