If one wish could be afforded
To my life on Christmas Day
I would ask that you’re rewarded
For the joy you’ve brought my way
There could be no better present
Resting ‘neath my Christmas tree
Than the moments, warm and pleasant
We have shared so candidly.

I don’t need a homemade stocking
Or a gift wrapped with a bow
I could spend this lifetime, rocking
Here beside you, to and fro
And be perfectly contented
By the fact that we are blessed
With a friendship well cemented
The Lord reserves for His best.

Should my Christmas wish be granted
I would ask for nothing more
Since the friendship seed you’ve planted
Fills my life with gifts, galore
Though, my praise does not need mention
You’re a part of all I do
So, I pray Santa’s attention
Will center solely on you!
