Poem Artwork

This coming year, may we resolve
To give more than we take
So, happiness and love evolve
From every choice we make
If this straightforward wish is vowed
And our goodness transcends
We will have all we are allowed
When this year, lastly, ends.

This coming year, may we find calm
Within the simple pleasures
Of raindrops fallen in our palm
And small, yet priceless treasures
Like sunsets stretching to the sea
Or young children at play
For should this promise come to be
Our cares will melt away.

This coming year, may we embrace
The dreams of all mankind
So, this world is a better place
Than in days left behind
If we decide to meet the goals
Brought forth in this request
Goodwill shall thrive within our souls
While our New Year is blessed.
