You’re as lovely as a flower
Fully blooming in the spring
As gentle as a morning shower
And the freshness that it brings
You’re as brilliant as the sunset
Slowly fading in the west
And, my dear, please never forget
That you are the very best.

You’re as special as the second
When the snow begins to fall
And the dream for years I reckoned
Would never appear at all
But, indeed, your heart has found me
Now, my life is richly blessed
You are all I hoped you would be
As you are the very best.

You’re as precious as the picture
I have carried in my mind
Of the strong and lasting fixture
That my soul had longed to find
You’re as certain as the starlight
Bringing forth a time for rest
You have filled my heart with delight
