A poem about taking life one day at a time.

Poem Artwork

I cannot revive yesterday
For there, the past is found
Tomorrow is still far away
With questions all around
Therefore, I must thrive in this hour
And go where it shall lead
For in this brief moment of power
I know I can succeed.

I cannot change what came before
Nor would I wish to try
But this new dawn, found at my door
Knows not of days gone by
The morning brings another chance
To reach a chosen goal
Providing me a second glance
At what I can control.

I cannot mend a former time
What has been done is through
Tomorrow may grant hills to climb
Before saying adieu
But, all I really need to know
As I trudge on my way
Is that my faith is sure to grow
If I live for today.

Beautiful write, for we cannot look at what has happend and what has been, but only to the present and what is yet to be. Great write full of wisdom.

Yes. Yes.

One day at a time: yesterday, over; tomorrow has enough worries of its own. Why add to today's stresses? You inspire and educate in beautiful poetry; well done, JILL!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
