Written in the Stars

by Jill Eisnaugle — Read all 611 poems by Jill Eisnaugle

A poem about discovering love and realizing that some of the best facets of life come in their time, though not always as often as we wish them.

Poem Artwork

She walked along the dusty trail
And stared into the sun
The days kept coming without fail
Alone, she spent each one
Then, as the sun began to fade
A light came from afar
To show her love was not forbade
But, written in the stars.

Her wish for love had been a dream
For months and years on end
Though in her heart, it did not seem
She’d find her special friend
Having explored the highs and lows
From mountaintop to beach
Her faith was coming to a close
As love stayed out of reach.

She strolled along the dusty trail
The sky in darkened hue
And wondered if she would prevail
In finding love, so true
But, as the sun fell to the sea
Hope came from miles afar
Once she realized her destiny
Was written in the stars.
