I wish you well, as you move on
I feel little regret
Although the bond we’ve shared is gone
Memories never forget
You’ll always rest within my heart –
A page marking the past
As proof that while we are apart
Our legacy shall last.

I hope that every hour you see
Beneath the morning sun
Is one that holds your destiny
Before the day is done
But, should the present hour fall dark
Leaving you, all alone
Please know that you have left your mark
Upon each day I’ve known.

I’ll never think back to this time
With any sense of shame
Our pathway became much to climb
No one should shoulder blame
Please go your way and I’ll go mine
With no tears left to cry
May this new start bring cause to shine
Be well, my friend, goodbye.
