Your Last Sunny Day

by Jill Eisnaugle — Read all 611 poems by Jill Eisnaugle

A poem about reflecting upon good memories when life is not as wonderful as we feel it should be.

Thursday, May 10, 2007

Poem Artwork

If morning light brings tears of grief
And clouds are in the way
Just close your eyes and find relief
In your last sunny day
Should you recall when skies were blue
And daydreams filled your home
Good tidings will return to you
Down every road you roam.

A smile will stretch across your face
Unlike any before
When memories guide you to the place
Where light shines, evermore
You’ll keep your faith forever near
When darker hours unfold
If you recall when days were clear
And paths were lined in gold.

If morning light brings bouts of pain
Without a reason why
Just close your eyes, free life’s disdain
And gaze across the sky
You’ll once again be in your prime
With little cause to stray
Should you relive the simpler time
Of your last sunny day.

Really an uplifter! Just what I need to save & read over and over again, especially when storms are shouting over the waves in the sky!
God Bless,
Sharon

Beautiful reminder, Jill...it's been so long since I've seen the sun, I'll have to remember this. Thank you for your inspiration and sunshine today!

So very beautiful and yet sad when those sunny days are so far apart. Exquisite poem Jill.

Beautiful. Those gray days were meant to give you the opportunity to reflect upon the sunfilled days and thereby never let them fade away.
God bless,
Lew

So right you are with this one, we tend to forget all too easy the good things in life with every minor setback we face. All too often we waste time being angry at the world instead of embracing our life on the world. Well done Jill.
