A poem written for my dear friend, Sydney.

Poem Artwork

With arms outstretched and opened wide
I welcome you to come inside
I will hold you in my embrace
Grateful that we are face-to-face
The space between us can be long
But, our bond still remains as strong
No soul alive could ever break
The friendship in which we partake.

I’ll save my hugs for you, alone
You are the sweetest soul I’ve known
You’ve been there for me, years on end
As my protector and my friend
Faithfully, you’ve stayed by my side
You’ve kept the secrets I confide
As only the true st friend would
You are the heart of all things good.

With arms outspread, I reach for you
You are my loyal friend and true
I rub your ears; you lick my nose
When we play near the garden hose
Two friends for life, one sits and begs
While one walks with only two legs
Through rain and snow, through sun and fog
I’ll share each hug with you, my dog!

Beautiful write.

It gives a whole new meaning the the expression, "live a dogs life."
We had two. One is with our daughter now and the other just grew old and we mourned her loss.
God Bless,
Lew
