The morning rain tumbled, with the greatest of care
But, by the noon hour, this wonder would share
The most precious blessing, afforded to man
A gift freely given, as part of God’s plan
Amid the rain shower’s melodious hum
The promise of good, in the tidings to come
For in the near distance, a joy sprang to earth
An aura of nature, which brought glee and mirth.
Gazing towards the east, cloudy skies marred the blue
Toward the west, a more beautiful sight was in view
This newfound creation, born from hours behind
Became quite uplifting to the heart and mind
The stillness, amid the blessing’s wondrous grace
As pristine as snowfall; as fragile as lace
Brought forth a short time of private reflection
While granting the world a sense of direction.
A light drizzle fell from the Heavens above
Which, by the noon hour, would confirm God's love
As the morning progressed and the rain showers slowed
A blessing appeared to lessen the earth’s load
Her colors were clear; each was vibrant and bold
Her presence was such a delight to behold
Through granting the hope, for a day not in vain –
God’s rainbow became a smile after the rain.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Burleson, Karen Lynn. :D
Guess I won't be smiling until some time next year (referring to our local weather where rain hasn't ceased for months) ;-)

The thought of the rainbow as "God's Smile After The Rain" is a lovely thought, indeed. Beautiful verse.
