Refreshed at Dawn

Each dawn, I am quite grateful
To see the morning dew
Life may hand me a plateful
But, I will make it through
My faith helps me move boulders
And guides me on my course
As the sun on my shoulders
Warms my heart with her force.

Each dawn, it is my duty
To smile, before I rise
Thankful for the earth’s beauty
Found right before my eyes
The birds beyond my doorway
Serve to make my heart glad
As I vow to make this day
The best one I have had.

Each dawn, I know I’m worthy
I live life as I choose
Days can be topsy-turvy
But, I am yet to lose
My heart holds much ambition
When daylight greets my lawn
Regardless of my mission
I am refreshed at dawn.

A beautiful way to start any day, as the first thing each morning as I open my eyes I tell myself it will be a perfect day and the only one that can change that is me. Thank you for sharing your poem with us Jill.

This is a lovely poen and a lovely way to look at life in general, if we face each new day with this way of thinking we would all be so much better off.

Very nice. Between your poem about Dawn and mine about Dusk we seem to have it covered. And both Dawn and Dusk are two more gifts from God for us to enjoy.
Thanks for sharing it, Glen

What a beautiful way to say "the dawn of a new day" and look forward with expectation to what God has in store for us.
It may sound corny, but I am refreshed by your poem. It fills my heart with joy beyond belief knowing that I've got another day!

Blessings,
Kathy
