She knew her fate was less than grand
Yet, her soul vowed to take a stand
Despite the odds, she fought to live
Throughout each day the Lord would give
When tired and frail, she chose to rise
Until her illness hushed her sighs
No greater fighter has there been
And never will there be again.
In life, she had a gentle heart
The kind that sets someone apart
From those before and those who’ll be
She lived by grace and dignity
She was a Mother to her own
And every other she had known
Her sun has set; her time has passed
But, her memory will always last.
She knew the outcome was quite grim
But life, to her, was not a whim
She mustered strength, courage and might
Until she could no longer fight
Though she is gone, she left behind
A lesson to share with mankind
Life may not always be the best
Yet, vow to live, as you are blessed.

an inspiring courage indeed
May God bless her soul
Anyway, thanks for letting the rest of the poetry world see this. Keep writing and keep fighting. (Sounds like a plan, eh?)
God bless you,
Kathy
A most beautiful eulogy to those who suffer no more, and inspiration to those facing illness to not give up the fight. Well done.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. :(
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Burleson, Karen Lynn. :)
Not ill, but feeling frustrated about waiting for my stupid disability to be approved; living on nothing is driving me NUTZ!!!!
She is blooming without pain.
Love,
Susan
God Bless
