You’ve never called me sweetheart
I’ve never been your dear
But, whenever we’re apart
I long to have you near
You make each day much brighter
Than all the ones before
Life’s hardships become lighter
When you are at my door.

You’ve never called me darling
I’ve never been your gal
But, still, you make my heart sing
You are a special pal
You share your deep convictions
And, I share mine with you
Our bond has no restrictions
Our friendship remains true .

You’ve never called me honey
I’ve never been your jewel
And, yet, I think you’re funny
You’re awesome and you’re cool
I always think about you
And wonder what would be
If before our lifetimes are through
You’d fall in love with me?

Unrequited love is an emotionally painful experience that consumes the energy and core of one's being, sometimes for decades. We all hear about someone who "Carries the torch" for an unreachable mate. What's tragic, is that we're all vulnerable. Passionate love for another subverts everything.

"If You Would Fall In Love" captures the essence of this overpowering emotion in an acceptably mild manner. I didn't even grit my teeth while reading about such poisonous truth.

You have quite a way with words, Jill Eisnaugle.

What a beautiful write...My sister has a friend like this, and I asked her once, "So, do you think you and George will ever..."and she stopped me, saying, "I enjoy our friendship so much, I'd be afraid to ever make it anymore than that!"
Makes one think, though...if one, is in love more than the other? . . . but, it's such a beautiful friendship, why couldn't it be more?
Great pen, Jill
so Enjoyed~
Love and Peace~
