Our Tree

by Jill Eisnaugle — Read all 611 poems by Jill Eisnaugle

A poem about a tree and the long-standing romantic relationship that grew in strength, together.

Tuesday, March 4, 2008

Poem Artwork

Our tree is tall and mighty now
Tendered o’er days and years
Our lives are found within each bough
Once the springtime appears
In winter, her leaves lose desire
Yet, she is always true
A blessing that we shall admire
Until this life is through.

Our tree reminds us of the roads
That our two lives have followed
Together, we have hauled life’s loads
Our hearts have never hollowed
Just like the tree, our bond has grown
And strengthened over time
To form a gift we call our own
A love, still in its prime.

Our tree has weathered countless storms
Since she was born from seed
Her life has taken many forms
According to the need
At times, she has become our might
Others, our hallowed shade
But, most of all, she brings to light
The love that Heaven made.

A tree, like this poem signifies strength. That looks like a rare picture of bluebonnets in snow.

What a blessing this one is as it makes me smile at the thought of where the trees come from and all they share in through our lives Jill. Thank you for sharing.

OMG Jill, this is very romantic, and very heartfelt. The photo reminds me of a picture I had seen of the Tree Of Life, in the Garden of Eden, when I was younger. The ending of this poem seems to confirm that Our Tree, is just that; the Tree Of Life. I was captivated from the first line to the very last, and I enjoyed reading this. I may read it again sometime, just to renew that there is life, other than our own, which prospers in strength. Thank you so much for sharing.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your den sister, Barbie
