Tiny Tear and Hazel Eyes

by Jill Eisnaugle — Read all 611 poems by Jill Eisnaugle

A poem about sad moments that led to second chances and sacred dreams.

Saturday, April 5, 2008

A tiny tear fell down my cheek
My heart was lost; I could not speak
But then, I saw a beam of joy
In the hazel eyes of a boy
His brawny hand softly touched mine
A precious moment so divine
Assuring that I was to win
A blessed chance to love again.

The tiny tear left quite a stain
An ageless memory of pain
Reminding me how much I’ve grown
Since those grief-ridden days alone
The hazel eyes beneath his brow
Taught me to grasp the here and now
For the beautiful bond we share
‘twas worth the woe I had to bear.

The tiny tear is dry at last
A moment faded in the past
A remnant turned to black and white
Far from the future’s colors bright
My heart now frolics with the crowd
And each morning, I am so proud
To know that wherever I’ll roam
His hazel eyes welcome me home.

Tender love song style with warmth overcoming the cold of sadness. The Hazel Eyes theme catches the readers attention and flow through out. Well done littl Jill, well done.
