You are my true companion
My best friend in this world
Our love is like a canyon
Carved where God’s grace unfurled
Each crevice holds a memory
Worth keeping for all time
The pieces of our legacy
Displayed while in their prime.
Our tender lives are treasured
Each precious and yet, strong
Just like a mighty canyon
That has withstood so long
Love is our sprawling valley
Beneath vast skies of blue
Pristine and quite astounding
These days I've spent with you.
Each dawn, a new beginning
For brilliance still untold
Filled with hope for the future
As we slowly grow old
Yet, like the mighty canyon
Our love shall weather strife
While forging pleasant memories
To last beyond this life.
