A little friendship poem.

        You’re my best friend through good and bad times
You’ve seen each high and low
The days when I’ve found wings to soar
And when I’ve stubbed my toe
You’ve watched as I have reached the stars
You’ve shared my secrets too
I do not know where I would be
Without a friend like you
You always let me rule the roost
And have the final say
You never need a reason why
That is your caring way
You are a gem, a priceless pearl
A friend so pure and rare
Someone who loves the soul that’s ME
YOU are beyond compare!

Wow, this makes me feel like I have a long ways to go before I reach such quality in writing. I am reminded of Hellen Steiner Rice, one of my favorites. Beautiful poetry.
