My heart feels like an empty box
Its core contents removed
A hollow place where love once thrived
Now lost and tattered bare
A shell where once a life made sense
But now all that has passed
Left only a nomad just wandering through
Oh how can this truly be
The place that once had been like home
Now awkward, lost, and broken
The ones within have up and changed
Now unrecognizable to most
I’ve nothing to offer; I’m lost in the fog
Feeling more and more distant each day
And still all the changes keep etching away
At the canyon where once sense had thrived
The vicious cycle know never an end
No rest, no sleep and more grief
More changes to bury the soul, evermore
As I slip ever further from view
Will this ever feel normal? Alas I can’t say
Too many unknowns to disclose
But try as I must to stay sane – oh I shall
For now, it feels I’m truly all that I have

I feel encouraged however by the line at the end about trying you must to stay sane and "oh I shall" and know you will too.

However, your poem, whether or not it may or may not be personal, is highly emotional and describes what can happen when our lives are turned over by events we couldn't foresee. I will just add that life struggles tend to make us stronger, and sometimes, happier, in the end.
