Titles for the Heart.
i.
Monuments confined as shelf souvenirs seek titles for the heart.
ii.
On the threshold of visibility token policemen parade uniformity.
iii.
Life´s infinite variety & assortment has its funny side.
iv.
Donne´s fair trade winds sail for spices, offices, riches galore
& takes as most prized possession she his bedside cabin companion.

In the street the multitude are a tamed jungle ruled by the forces
Of a woeful mythology & the peculiar presences which
Attend this world & once magical word that time´s usury erodes.

After beat is subordinated to serve prose a fallacy ensues.

Moon through the window spot lights a dust flecked stage to an invitation.

War & work is the therapy for our sickness.
Each day, each new next moment´s grace,
We hurtle headlong on the threshold of chaos
Face facing the abyss upon our face:
But you perilous human, alone in the riot,
Mere spectator, shrouded in the dark hood
Of your mind, blink between pathos & ethos.
ix.
Showboat at the fair, stars ferment to popcorn seeking titles for hearts.
I watch in vain, the sail open as a rose & the deck its vine, again.*
