Skylines

Skylines.

i.

clouds resist the edge
not of sky or of water
but of vastness:

raindrops.

to each of the drops
every drop is a drop
to the ground:

vastness.

skyline dives on the edge,
where clouds resist,
yet unsayable:

raindrops.

this diminished world
on the edge of a window
skyline, drinks:

vastness.

ii.

winter combines light:
familiar scenery
parts in difference.

dormant landscapes lay
slumbering dreaming beneath
the window´s skyline,

obscure over
images summer lifted
only to dazzle.

iii.

way of the white clouds:
snow melts on distant mountains,
so seem the white clouds.

no clouds move, below
a city spellbound under
vermillion streak.

sounds invisible,
as if bird´s wing could break through
the sound barrier.

yet the ridge, still grits
its teeth for coming frost bite,
grimly, to determine.

iv.

Worship earth´s face
as moods of Gaia,
but before the blast, we

are helpless.
placate, marvel, wonder,
crawl in terror & awe,

they are but her
seasonal whims to season
in your bosom.

Your style is unmistakably "ouzmanish" or "hislopish." Lovely write. Much enjoyed. Thank you for this offering, Robin. Love and peace, Regis.

Hi Robin

this was sort of giving us reality in chunks, on moving in, and another over, I felt a stillness in the piece, as if thunder anytime to erupt, and knowing raindrops were bailing, the high ground for the low, ty Al

Hi Robin,
I was galloping along nicely there, then I had to throw the anchors on.
Nearly went straight over the handlebars.
“Unsayable” by golly now that is a serious statement

Now what would that mean Skyline dives on the edge where clouds resist,
(But are retractable,) Ah got it silly me.

I like the Roman touch too Tellus , and the Greek Goddess of the Earth.

Very good, enjoyed this.

Mor.
