Slaughter of the Lamb

Everyday somewhere in this world, a very real horror is being perpetrated...

A shot rings out
it bears no name
pain and confusion
no good will be gained.

Shadowy figures
run and hide,
Who's left standing
who will survive?

A Child!  A Child!
lays
dying
in
the
Night...
Someones
Baby...
Sacrificed!

Angry cries slice
a families life,
a future promise
shattered in the night

The huddled crowd
frozen in shock,
wondering again
why a life is lost

A Child!  A Child!
clinging
to
life...
pain
and
confusion
in
so
many
Eyes!

Lives forever changed
filled with pain and despair
mistaken identity
has no care

Democratic bullets
rip through the dark
don't really matter
why they hit their mark

Hymns will be sung
for an innocent soul
a martyr...
a lamb of the fold

Left in this world
many shall weep
as real monsters
plot, while you and I
sleep...
