Phantoms Of The Mind

Solemn melancholy mood
scorching entrails
laid to dry
summon
all my
worldly
breath...
awaiting,
Grim Reapers
ode to die
soggy footprints
round my door
bid farewell
a lovers scorn
stolen glances
glimpses of the past
round the marsh
love unwraps
rising from it's bed
silhouettes framed
in the fire
mock the legends
dour and dire
of the living dead...

Well done, you give the poem a depth and quality with phantom rhymes,

laid to dry
summon
all my
worldly
breath...
awaiting,
Grim Reapers
ode to die

I did enjoy this work, no qualms, even the ellipses are well put. Congratulations on a fine piece.
