A glimpse into an evening between two old friends and former neighbors as they realize they are attracted to one another. They are both free from the bounds of former marriages. If you haven't read part 1 yet, this poem will make more sense to you if you do. Although this poem/story is a work of fiction, one has to wonder what if.....

Sipping coffee and munching cookies
Looking at old photo albums
Precious memories stirring within us
"Do you remember when?"
Laughter and giggles filled the room

"Can I ask you a question?"
"Did you ever know how
I felt about you, that I had fallen
In love with you many years ago?"

As he moved closer to me, I trembled
When he folded me gently into his arms
Caressing my golden tresses as he lifted my
Perfumed hair to inhale the scent of me

"Let my eyes and my lips adore you
As I had always hoped I could.
Let me drink your beauty in,
Absorbing the very essence of you."

Eager lips met in a symphony of
Provocative moistness and swirling tongues
As we learned to dance the dance
Of lovers since the beginning of time.

Pulling away suddenly, he whispered
In my ear "I knew it, I always knew it!
You are just as passionate in kissing
As I always dreamed you would be!"

Nibbling on my neck, he whispered in my ear
"You have the lips of a goddess, skin that
Glows like fine pearls, the body of a temptress
And the sweetness of golden nectar"

"I want you as my own, to have and hold
For all time. I know this sounds crazy
And much too soon to ask you....
But...if I wait three months or so,
Would you, could you consider
A proposal of marriage from me?"

Without waiting for an answer, he pulled me
On his lap, ravaging my lips once again
With deepening kisses that spoke of love
And passion that exploded all around us.

Lost in a sea of emotions, I felt my passion
Rising to meet his. I was falling, swirling into
A sensuous abyss of which there is no return,
Nor did I want there to be one.

Slowly lifting my lips from his, swollen
With the bruise of his ardent kisses,
I smiled to myself as I looked into his
Dark, smoldering, passion-drugged eyes

Realizing that three months was probably
Much too long to wait for him to
Brand me as his own true love!

As all good romantic stories with a happy ending should go...this lead the charge to the front with a lot of emotion and sensual reference through the excellent use of imagery to convey the passion and romance of this story. Loved it.

as each line developed the intrigue to keep
reading with anticipation to the perfect ending

My comment on Part 1 was; "A cliffhanger! Now I won't sleep a wink until Part 2." Well, Joy, you certainly swept me over the cliff! Now the question is, how do you entice him to revoke the three month stay? I believe you passed the test for a new form of work. Very well done......Just Jim,by the way, I think I can sleep now!

Boy-oh-boy, this doesn't sound like he stayed but a few minutes. Smoldering and sexy, m'lady. At our age, waiting three months can be one hell of a long time. Like I said at part one, smoldering and sexy.
