A sparrow sits among the damp brances of the pine
a soft breeze blows, and the sun's warm rays
sparkle between the branches
lifting the sparrow in a slow, hypnotic dance

Through the close window, a crystal clear drop
slides slowly down the cool glass pane
hesitantly reaching it's destination
in the soft, moist earthen floor

The fire crackles, flames dance poetically
from the fireplace across the room
from where I sit, feet folded beneath me, waiting
Anticipation moistens my hands
my breath comes anxiously
eager eyes scan the horizon for you
for your familiar gait, your  bright whistling

I long to feel your strong arms around me
to welcome you with kisses I've held for so long
to see the love in your eyes reflecting my own

The joy of rekindling our love, ignites a fire in me
that burns eternal, and makes it hard for me
to bear the times when you're away
the hours we cannot share of each day
for your love is  my daily bread
the food that feeds my need

And I hunger until alast,
you are with me again
bearing the eyes and lips,
the smile and kisses,
the strong loving embraces
that you so selflessly share with me
