For Mike

Here With Me

as spring’s warm breeze
gently lifts the curtains,
your smile
sneaks into the room
unexpectedly,
instantly detected

evening’s air still cool,
my skin aches
for your touch
and these damn linen sheets
offer no competition

please,
stop sneaking into my dreams
meet me here, instead
gift me with your
antidotal caress –
and
while you’re near,
would you whisper
sweet (anythings)
in my ear?

for now,
I tuck
sweet reminders of you
into my heart’s knapsack
and
close to me
is everywhere you are

For you, Mike

My precious friend,
I'm so sorry that I missed this. You know why I have not been able to review much lately but this is no excuse. You've been so wonderfully supportive of mine. I'm so in love I can barely think of anything else. That is why I can appreciate such a write. You capture it so incredibly well. I have felt the ache for such a long time. Soon I will feel his arms around me again.
Your poetry is incredible as always.
