Life passes best I can hope
for someone to
remember
my lessons
learned
It was early in the evening
in the valley of the cry
I was
drinking whiskey
waiting to die
She put her arms around me
pulled me to her breast
Lost
my soul in her chest
Older than age in her face
self pity was what I'd erase
perfumed
mind filled pillow case
Words came in a flurry said
sharing of the night
but not in her
bed
Special images demon died
wrote songs and music cried
warm her
body next to me
It was in the spring
laid her body down
love of life my
crown
Words dance off the pen
fields of green I have
been
every word a chance to grow
Life passes best I can hope
for someone to remember
my lessons
learned
