The Stars Know Best

by Myra Wexler Darwish — Read all 62 poems by Myra Wexler Darwish

The poem was written in response to the dynamic change process, which is part of our human experience here on Earth. The year 2016 seems to be particularly chaotic...but change has and always will be part of who we are as human beings.

THE STARS KNOW BEST

By, Myra W. Darwish

Mankind’s evolution

Flows with the tides of change,

Like nature’s glorious seasons,

It seeks to rearrange…

How life is experienced

On this, the physical plane.

The impulse to restructure

The way things currently are,

Opens up new cosmic forces

Like the birthing of a star…

Changing all that is

Both near and afar.

Life’s rhythms reverberate

 Like a tautly tailored drum,

Deeper than its normal tone,

Revealing change has come…

New sounds are emerging

Still unheard by everyone.

Some call it higher consciousness,

Some call it growing pains,

But the world as we know it

Never stays the same…

What we know of life is waning,

Only memories will remain.

New patterns will appear again,

At a time the stars know best.

Ideas will surely ebb and flow,

Some with great success…

Life’s creative symphony,

Knows mankind cannot rest!

You have clearly written a poem for our times with so many people dragging their feet in the face of inevitable change. People don't know what's in their stars for the future.

What you wrote about ideas is quite a coincidence. I just penned a poem along a similar vein for opening your poem and reading it. Am I channeling you? Certainly no intent to plagiarize your fantastic insight in this poem of yours.

Astronomers not long ago discovered a nova so powerful , or a gamma ray burst, forget which , even though billions of light years away ( thank goodness) it is brighter than all stars in our galaxy put together, a few billion times over, unbelievable the forces in the universe.

Strong imagery supports your message; a process that no human has control of. Well-considered. Enjoyed. r

Yes indeed, this old world never stays the same, and that goes for us humans who inhabit it. We change with it for good or for naught.
