The Magic of the Meadow

by Myra Wexler Darwish — Read all 62 poems by Myra Wexler Darwish

The "Magic of the Meadow" was written on my 75th birthday and speaks to honoring the young child that used to spend hours reading and listening to poetry, and feeling great joy. Today, that little child still lives within my heart; she has remained true to who she always was.

 The Magic of the Meadow

By Myra Wexler Darwish

(In honor of my 75th birthday)

There is magic in the meadow
Where nature’s beauty dwells.
As mirthful winds move flowers,
Of petals, spikes, and bells.

Oh do come and sit beside me,
And watch this heavenly sight.
We can sit among the grasses,
As the flowers all take flight

The hours can go by there
Till the Sun decides to sleep,
Heaven knows no better...
For the magic there is deep.

You so reminded me of those carefree younger days where the meadow was magic in the forest filled with dark wonders. I am sharing the same year with you and it's wonderful to think back on all that we have lived.
