SEVENTEEN
By Myra Wexler Darwish
Love found its way to her doorstep
Those many years ago,
Like a beacon in the fog
Of poignant yesterdays.
She was seventeen, a young woman
With a gentle heart.
He, a worldly and knowing man,
Who knew her from the start.
In concert they walked their paths,
Weaving potentials into One.
Their long life together,
Honors who they have become.

Those first three lines
say, yet can be seen to question so much…
Was it fate, meant to be,
or were you star crossed lovers…?
Whatever, it has been,
and in concert you walked your paths…
A really beautiful poem…
My best wishes,
Diana…🌿
Makes me wonder if it is the way of your life. It begs a picture of that 17-year-old girl.
