Joy

When was it that joy first entered my life?
I go back to that moment in time
When I first knew of him.
On the wings of memory, I fly,
To that special moment sublime
When we first met.
There at my front door
So many years ago,
Joy found me.
The doorbell rang, and he was there.
My heart opened to know
A yet nameless feeling.
Life has offered me many beginnings,
Yet none like when we first met
And fate bound us together.
Though time moves us
To forget,
True love can remember.
Having its own special clock,
Unencumbered by days,
Minutes, or hours.
Its rhythm discovers
In its own special way,
The joy of those who deeply love.
