The Lonely Soul

Inspiration can come in many forms such as an artist inspired by a face, figure or a breathtaking landscape.
Today, as I read I was inspired by another poet...
Like an actor in a play-I performed their life from the inside out...

Deny me not, a song to sing
The wrenching of my heart
Tis I, the cry of many souls
When wings are torn apart
Deny me not, a voice be heard
When life has lost its shine
The song is sung from deep inside
When truth cannot deny
Deny me not, oh soul of souls
A pain too much to bear
I laugh to cover up the wounds
Of life, when no one's there
Deny me not, oh freedom’s song
True happiness inside
When given tools to chisel off...
the sculpture of my pride
Deny me not, oh heart of hearts
When sung to you each day
You’ve given to…my soul...a part
...of life...without dismay
