As October passes
it reminds me of times gone by
The brisk wind touches my face
and I think of you
I see the seasons change
and another year of souls
awaken to their dreams
like us when we were young
Oh, how we have changed
new lovers, new babies
new houses, new jobs
and most of all
new hearts
Compassionate thoughts
enter through me
like a river flowing
downstream, again
and again
It takes me back to you
We are no longer
children with
buster brown shoes
and pony tails.
