The Path of Love

A friend is a friend is a friend...I don't think we will ever stop worrying about the friends in our lives whose burdens are hard for them to bear. This particular friend escaped death once though now is battling with her addictions.

I shall not cry
for sadness lurks
in every corner of the world
though my garden has blooms
with red like scarlet
for my own eyes to behold
My friend is not here
She travels alone
wanting, waiting for love
and for someone
to heal her pain
and her wounds
from the iniquities of life
I am alive!
That is my consolation
For my longing
to see her once more
makes me crawl deep
into my own despair
I do not know
if her cheeks
are bursting with smiles
or if her eyes
are swelling from tears
My own heart is wretched
with an aching
to comfort her soul
for I, have known love
in the deepest sense
and I am blessed
by many moons
and many nights
of endless passion
Prayer is the only gift
I can bestow upon her heart
so that others
may draw closer
to her side
when her own life
is too much to bear
At long last,I am not alone
My god is my only companion
He drinks from
the cup of prosperity
when I have followed
the path of love
