The fires kept coming and in a flash
we found ourselves beyond an escape
The smoke had been filling a dark moonlit night
We ran faster not knowing our fate
Our hearts were tired from exhaustion
The amber and red yellow flames
Seemed almost as though they were pretty
Our senses were not quite the same
Disaster kept pushing on towards us
It kept knocking at our high heels
We looked back and saw our burnt houses
They lay helpless as though they could feel
Now we lay with contented faces
Our angels came down to our sides
We know that we have no possessions
But thank God we are still alive
