I walk in gardens with roses already picked
Now… thin remembrances of happiness
It is all that is left…
And thorns have taken the place of beauty
The winter sheds sorrow only once
Upon flowers who brighten the world
And I too, mourn their space
Like others who desire scents so glorious
I have other ways to find providence...
Though I choose to walk amongst the dark clouds
For the moment it is my true comfort
And the only pain that I know is real…
The wind chills my spine with uncertainty
With no covering to hide my face
There are no other places to run…
And safety lies within my heart’s domain
I see the lights up ahead in the sky
They shine out...as they call to me
Though I still do not relinquish my sadness
For I am like a tiger in the lion's den
