Souls Always Find Their Way Home

by Antoinette Kopperfield — Read all 219 poems by Antoinette Kopperfield

Tuesday, January 20, 2004

Speak loud, for you may not be heard
By doves flying in the night
Or woodpeckers without beaks
You are the only one… befell, by your emotions

At long, last… you must find
Love waiting at the door
To be let in…though your soul
Knows not, why-a rose has fragrance

The world was not meant for hatred
bound by chains or swords
There are reasons why we love
and vengeance knows not, a place among peace

Find yourself again, and write amongst the angels
Their wings are never beyond reason
When flowers wilt. It is time to breathe again
And start seeds again, from the water’s flow

Grasp on…to the other side of life
Awakening, from deep coffins
Souls always find their way
Back home from dark shadows
