What Does She See

I understand the why, but can't wait for the time when it is me.

What does she see when he holds her tight?
What does she see in his bed at night?
As her eyes close, does she see my face?
Do we dance, do we love; forever the chase?

We have grown in each other's life.
Through tears, the nigh of stupid, and strife,
We fill each other's needs as best we can.
For we'll ride life's waves until I am her man.

A man- who gives without asking to take.
A man- who places no boundries on her for happiness sake.
She freely gives to me all her heart.
Even at night when we are apart.

I hold nothing against our situation.
Some, our lives would shun.
We see a real life through the veil of this.
A first time, real happiness, wedded bliss.

I can only wait until our time is near.
When on bended knee we soar in skies clear.
In her eyes I see her need- a man, a real man.
I am her man; keeping her honor, giving her respect in all I can.

ii agree with cj it is sad, but a good job in the expression of deep love

RB, this is lovely and so wistful -- the love shines through in this well-written poem, but it makes me so sad.
Love,
CJ
