Winds of Change

Within the winds of change, new life is given and the old life is carried away.

Winds of Change

As I stand aloft high above the valley below
The small swirls of snow sway to the rhythmic tornadic dance.
Reaching higher to the rock I stand on.
The cold wild sculpting as I pose in trance.

Cold senses struggle against hot desires
As winds of change overcome her.
She struggles against the freezing heart
As day empties into day, she must endure.

I see her etched in time sitting on my rock.
The same spot where we made love.
Cold, uncovered and wondering why.
Reaching out to him standing far above.

He sees her pain and feels the frost from her breath.
His feet frozen in time, His tears fall in ice.
He is her warrior caught by time immortal.
No other would do, no love suffice.

The soft I love you resonates from her frozen lips
As a smile cracks her tender mouth.
He is as stone, so close to her, yet so very far.
Her eyes closed in surrender as the warm winds of change blow up from the south.

The sun stretches forth its warmth.
Her fire and ice dance together in new life form
She touches him and watches as he melts.
A surreal scene in the midst of the storm.

The problems of life will forever grow.
As you hold on and never let go.
Frozen solid in your past.
Just let the warm winds last..

Yes, there was a time I dwelled
on the past, but not anymore.
A waste of time.
Great write, and thanks for your review.

This reminds me of a Chinese legend that a lady turns into a rock while standing on top of a mountain waiting for her love to come back. This rock of that lady is still up in a mountain in Hong Kong.

Wonderful write and is thought-provoking!!!!

The Heart's Way by Rebecca McKeehan

Love is universal and not limited to the most perfect among us. In this collection of romantic short stories and poetry, love comes to those who are decidedly imperfect, who possess very real human flaws, scars, and challenges. Awaiting us as we are.
