I have traveled on bridges to the heart.
Many rusted and run down, others torn apart.
I have walked across insecurities bridge to help someone in need.
I never knew my own heart forever would bled.
I ran across and with eager anticipation the physical needs span.
With each crossing, getting deeper and deeper mired in the sand.
This is not a bridge to cross. Not part of the plan.
Expanding love, joined bodies together, the bridge could not stand.
I drifted across the angel’s bridge to meet a spiritual need.
Someone needing more than I can give, I just planted the seed.
Looking back on her today with fine repose.
She has come full circle. How, only God knows.
Emotions bridge rocked and swayed as I inched forward.
Through the valleys and up high on the mountains across
deep rivers ford.
Troubled times trouble time no more.
She has learned to close her past before she opens a new door.
I yearn to travel down that last bridge I see far away.
There are many on it going the wrong way.
I wonder if it leads me to my own fate.
To that certain one I run in haste.
I stand in line long and grey. Suitors as far as I can see.
How do I stand a chance in this maleness of a sea.
I stand before her shrouded form
as her darkness turns to light and her smile starts to warm.
I feel this last bridge is the last crossing in my life.
I have found my friend, my lover, my wife.
We meet each others needs. Death do us part.
For we both traveled bridges to the heart.
