Everyone needs a little honey to sweeten their lives.

I watch you laying prone on your back with
the blanket tucked neatly around you as
you’re wrapped up around three-hundred thread
count satin sheets.
Your lips slightly pursed as I listen softly as
you breathe. A gentle purr emits from your
dreams as I enter into your mind.
I feel myself walking in your dreams as you
remember last night.
The scent of our love is still in the air.
I kiss your neck and taste your perfume
still fresh on my lips.
The smell of rose and lavender rises from the still
burning candles.
I uncover your body and softly kiss the softness
of your stomach. The smell of jasmine oil that
I massaged you with last night is now mixed
with the other tastes on my lips. I watch out the window as the bright orange of the sun cracks open my eyes.
I hear the soft hum of a carpenter bee stalking
the roses in the garden under our window.
I am amazed at how the bee awaits the opening of
the rose bud as the morning sun beckons it to bloom.
I watch the soft pedals unfold before the bee as if to
tease it to stay. Each fold wet in sweet morning dew while the bee waits to enter into the fragrance of the bud.
As if an angel sweeps across the sun and places angelic lips on me, I see the bud blossom in all its glory as it greets the morning. With nectar flowing and a soft teasing, the bee is spell bound to enter and sample the honey within.
The folds cradle the bee as it takes its fill of the love
given to it by the flower.
I look up to see you smile as your hands caress through my hair and press me down within your blossom.
I am much honored to be your bee as you are the flower of my
life.

Lovely homage to the object of your affection. I enjoyed every word of this painting of portraits and landscapes combined. You have a gift with imagery and mood. Bravo for an eloquent effort.

As one great poet said: "Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee."

Brother, your pen has "chops".

This is a wonderful tribute to the one who shares your life and your love. If I were she, I know I'd be honored to have such a beautiful poem written for me.

God bless you. Kathy

Much passion and love in this delightful love poem. And the rose sure reminds me of a woman with all its beautiful petals exposed to the sun.
