Rainbows of Winter

I try and find the good in all things and I know the beauty of new fallen snow as it reflects on the beauty of your life.

I watch the tiny crystals of ice fall in the

face of the sun. Each one unique in shape and size.

As they gather by the thousands all around me,

I am greeted by a thousand different rainbows of

color each its own prism of colored beauty

reflecting on the background of their own making.

With each step you take kicking color around

the sunlit day, I smile as I see the glitter of

the snow on your face. Each flake casts its beauty

just for an instant as it matches the glitter in your lipstick.

Just to see your smile and your joy makes me tolerate

the coming winter. These are precious moments cloaked

in the silence of new fallen snow that are pure and pristine.

As the prisms of light shine all around you, I notice how

matched you are to their environment. Your white snow

boots with green laces. That long winter jacket with the

red stripe matches your hat with the red stringy tassel.

Your orange and red mittens offer a colorful contrast to

the rainbows reflecting all about you. What more joy

could one behold in such a fertile way. Winter renews the

spring and brings color to life once again as it melts

away the burdens we carry for three long months. I hope

everyday is as colorful as today and each new snow is

as beautiful as you. For I have walked the rainbows of winter

and I know the wonders that await the spring.

I hope I can see some of that rainbow very soon. A comforting piece of writing... I am sooo eager to find quiet, peace, spring.

Well said and very heartwarming. One of the miracles of nature that make one stop to admire its beauty and the beauty of those we love and cherish....
