betrayal and lies

I trusted
I believed
broken shattered
pieces of my heart
shards of love now daggers of pain
everything hurts
the seconds marking minutes
the minutes marking hours
wending to the inevitable night
black darkness of agony
spasm racked sleepless
rising to puffed swollen face
and overnight white hair
betrayal and lies
nothing is as it seems
nothing
and I did know
I did
but
I chose instead fantasy
which
blurred the sharp reality
until the knife pierced
rending forever the dream asunder
would that I were beat blue and black
a busted lip a broken arm
an outward mark to show the world
I hurt
can you see me in my pain
do the blackened pools that were my eyes portray
the chaos within
I trusted
I believed
why why why why are you that stupid
wonder now if I will ever feel safe
again
sheltered protected
loved
will I ever hope to rest alee
I can’t see that now
I can’t hope that now
I can’t feel that now
so naive to give my heart
it won’t happen
again
I hate that you did this to us I hate it
I trusted
I believed

an oldie

Josefina,
I see you...
Tears, when mixed in the earth, does then cast new life, dawning from the earth, as flower, our yea, just recompence and reward.

i felt this to the very bones and i don't understand how one person can do this to another. It may be in the past and if this is a real memory then i am sorry you had to experience it

As Karen said...an oldie but a goodie. This is such an excellent piece of work. There is so much intensity in this that it hurts good. I would love to see more of this side of your writing as well.
