so
I’m a slob
so
what
been that way all my life
All my life
no different now than I was
ever
so what
so what that there are mega books
stacked all around my room
so what that there are clothes
thrown haphazard all around
there are worse things
trust me
I didn’t just
get this way
this is nothing new
slob I is and slob I’ll stay
so what
now
that said
quit trying to make me guilty about it
you
cannot put my books in “storage”
they are mine
okay
okay
I’ll compromise
I’ll straighten them out
but
you just don’t understand how much
I
need
them
even if I don’t read them everyday
even if
I’ve never read All of them
I will I will and some of them
some of them
are precious
don’t want them out of my sight
stuck somewhere’s in the gables of the garage
I
need
them
near me
they are words
you know I love words
live for words
and it’s cool really cool to have them stacked about
ask
any
interior decorator
especially
the antique ones
and
the poetry ones
what better way to say to the world
here lies
one
intellect
even if they do nothing but collect dust
who cares
they’re mine all mine
and I love them
really really love them
so
please
I will do something with the clothes
I will
but the books the books stay
forever
you get me you get books
I can’t compromise on that
o
k
please

Josi,
I found this write quite serious indeed.I have now ALL my special sentimental Hhildhood toys surrounding me in glee, in my study where I stay 18 hours a day, once they lived sadly in boxes, now out in array, from puppet to baseball my life in array..
and books...ah, how they do so wrap themselves about our very soul...tightly...
Im awed at this write, A word I actually use quite seldom indeed!

Sighhhhhh. I have thousands of books. I'm like a worrisome mother when I sort and give them away. I have to find good homes for them. I love the poem. Josie, you are a treasure.
