Soft red orange of the setting sun
Filters through thin cream colored curtains
Warming an undone bed
In a room too small, a time too short
Day met the night and the world kept on moving
Right on out the door, over the cracked pavement
Through the valleys and canyons
Up and down the mountains
Becoming a continental divide
The time zones split just far enough
Hours became days rolling into years
Pages and pictures have slowly yellowed
But I have never forgotten…
