I saw you there
your flaming hair
shining in the light.
I wondered how
but made a vow
I'd dance with you that night.
The atmosphere
as I grew near
electrified the air.
Your twinkling eyes
could hypnotize.
You shook your silk-like hair.
My mouth was dry
as I said hi
and felt my heart go wild.
You looked at me
with sympathy
then took my hand and smiled.
I held you tight
I thought I might
awaken from my dream.
For nothing real
could look or feel
as perfect as you seem.
Floating around
the music's sound
was sweet upon my ear.
Gliding along,
riding the song
one thing was surely clear.
You owned my heart.
We could not part.
You had to become mine.
My head was light.
Our love was right.
Your kiss was sweet like wine.
You had that look
I'm glad we took
what some might call a chance.
My love I owe
my life I know
to a slow, romantic dance.
