Sleep Well, Jerry

For Jerry Garcia

Thursday, September 21, 2006

A eulogy for Jerry Garcia of "The Grateful Dead"

Sleep well, Jerry, farewell.
You made our souls sing
And our spirits dance.
You made our nerves ring
And showed us romance.
Farewell, Jerry, sleep well.
You opened our eyes
And filled up our hearts.
You didn’t tell lies
When the world fell apart.
Sleep well, Jerry, farewell.
All over this land
You shall be alive.
In the words of the band
We will survive.
Farewell, Jerry, sleep well.
