Exquisite beauty and seductive charms
drew the fly into the black widow's web.
Numbed by anesthesia, blind to the harms.
Desires and passions, like tides, flow and ebb.
A willing "victim" blinded for a time
by exquisite deceptions, hypnotic.
Eager heart open to pleasures, sublime,
trading "real" for dreams, Oh, so erotic.
True colors illuminated so dim,
exposing her frightful, red hourglass,
before she could kill and devour him.
A victim no longer, it came to pass...
After struggling and tugging he broke free.
Happy, he flew back across the blue sea.

I have enjoyed the reading of "Pulling Free (A Sonnet)". It is a poetic jewel.
